KHANTY-MANSIYSK, Oct 30 (PRIME) -- A fire at Russian oil major Rosneft’s oil depot in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District has spread to other production and administrative facilities, the regional branch of the Emergency Ministry said on Tuesday.

“As of 8:25 p.m. (6:25 p.m. Moscow time), the fire area amounts to around 1,000 square meters. As a result of the overflow of oil products beyond the embankment, the fire spread to the oil metering station and an administrative building,” the statement said.

A spokesperson for the Emergency Ministry said earlier that the fire was localized on the area of 800 square meters.

The oil depot caught fire earlier on Tuesday injuring three people.

An official of Nizhnevartovsk Oil and Gas Producing Company, affiliate of Rosneft, said that the depot was part of its Khokhryakovskoye deposit and that the depressurization occurred during scheduled maintenance works by a contractor.
